Dental Veneers

Cover problem teeth with ultra-thin porcelain veneers.
Think of this treatment as a manicure for your smile. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are custom fit over your natural teeth. Dr. John can change the shape, color and length of your teeth in only two visits. It looks so good you'll wonder why you waited so long.

Some times it is possible to accomplish this even without shots or grinding of sensitive tooth structure.

Today at Advanced Dentistry we have exciting new biomaterials that can give your smile a lift without invasive treatments.

Dr. John can use ultra-thin porcelain veneers to correct chipped, weakened, or discolored teeth. No more yellow. No more gaps or embarrassing chips. And Dr. John's veneers can return real structural integrity to damaged teeth, while leaving them looking as good (or possibly better) than the originals.

At Advanced Dentistry, your veneers are custom made to fit over your natural teeth, with a finish more translucent to blend in with surrounding teeth. So people won't notice your tooth, they'll simply see your beautiful, natural smile.

Dental Crowns

Porcelain Crowns.
When the size of a "filling" exceeds a certain proportion of the tooth, it must be replaced with a "cap," also called a "crown." Dr. John likes to use metal free porcelain crowns that look very natural and don't have a dark metal line.

Crowns, or caps for teeth, look and function just like natural teeth. Dr. John may recommend a crown if a significant portion of your tooth has been destroyed that it cannot hold a filling;  or if your tooth is cracked or broken and is in danger of cracking down into the root if left unattended. A crown covers your tooth completely. It fits snugly at the gum and protects what remains of the natural tooth.

Dr. John may recommend a bridge be utilized to replace one or more teeth. These restorations are cemented onto the teeth and are referred to as "fixed" dentistry as opposed to a restoration of missing teeth with a removable appliance or partial denture.

Dental Implants

Go natural with dental implants.
Implants are bridges that are permanently anchored into the jaw. Because there is always a perfect fit, implants are almost the same as having your natural teeth back again. To qualify for implants, you'll need healthy oral tissues and jawbone ridges that are in good shape. If you're suffering from tooth loss, talk with Dr. John to see whether implants are an option for you.

If you are missing one or more teeth, you'll want replacements that are as natural as possible. If dentures don't work for you, you may consider dental implants. Unlike dentures, which can be removed, implants are permanently anchored into the jaw itself.

Usually Dr. John feels you are a good candidate for implants if you have jawbone ridges that are in good shape and healthy oral tissues. When the implant device is inserted into the jaw, a chemical and mechanical bond is formed. The jawbone actually grows into the implant.

With implants, Dr. John can get you a perfect fit, and they will look and feel as good as (or better than!) your original teeth.

Dental Bonding.

Dental Bonding

Cosmetic dental bonding comfortably repairs broken teeth
Dr. John uses dental bonding to sculpt individual teeth with a special tooth-like material that looks, acts and feels like the real thing.

Bonding is an affordable, quick and painless way to repair many cosmetic flaws or injuries.

Bonding can quickly fill in ugly gaps between teeth and repair chips and cracks.

Bonding by Dr. John is typically painless and can yield dramatic results in a single office visit. Essentially, bonding hides any natural flaws through the placement of a thin plastic coating on the front surface of the teeth.

After treating the tooth surface, Dr. John applies a putty-like bonding material that is then sculpted, shaped and colored to suit your needs. A high-intensity light causes the plastic to harden after which the new surface is smoothed and polished.

Bonding can lighten stains, close gaps and even alter crooked or malformed teeth. At Advanced Dentistry we can even utilize it to change the shape or color of a single tooth or if necessary to remake your entire smile.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Turn "Metal Mouth" into a natural smile.
Replace old crowns and bridges with metal-free restorations. There's a huge difference between metal fillings and Dr. John’s new porcelain restorations that reflect the translucence of natural teeth. Your metal fillings leak and prevent proper cleaning. They present areas which host germs and keep old food from being cleaned. This creates more tooth decay. Besides that, the way metal fillings are done, they make the teeth weak and prone to cracks and fractures. The age of metal fillings is over. We have better materials that will restore your teeth beautifully and preserve your teeth with predictability. Your new metal-free crowns, inlays and bridges won't show wear or cause opposing teeth to erode and fitting the crown or bridge is a breeze.

As you can see, tooth-colored fillings by Dr. John can substantially improve the beauty of your teeth. To read more about tooth-colored restorations.

For over 100 years, dentistry has restored teeth primarily with a material made of mercury and silver. It has done its job well, although we have had to live with its weaknesses. Those weaknesses consist of cracking teeth due to expansion of the material, recurrent decay due to leakage and difficulty in keeping it clean, and restorations turning black as the silver in the material corrodes.

Now we have many ways to provide tooth-colored restorations at Advanced Dentistry. We can use adhesives to bond tooth parts that look and act like teeth. We can provide a bright, healthy and strong smile with these exciting new techniques in adhesion dentistry.
